Should be interesting. Former husband was an Navy Aviator from 1978 to 2004, the Navy's F/A-18E or 18F Super Hornet is fast with a nice vertical lift. But the F-14 Tomcat not forgotten for it's outstanding design and maneuverability which replaced the lousy F-4 Phantom II. The Navy Blue Angels utilizing the A-4 Skyhawk was the most beautiful aircraft in the day. Lots has changed since the arrival of drones. I remember the close encounter he had with the Tu-95 Russian Bear in the early 1980's. Then in 1981 with Libya's Qaddafi and the Libyan SU-22 fighters that were shot down by F-14's. Too bad this movie could not bring back the beloved Goose or romance Maverick had with Ms. "Charlie" Blackwood (You;ve Lost that Lovin' Feeling). No little tike Mavericks to grow up to be like daddy. It's not right that women become fighter pilots in the new movie, combat belongs to the men.
