Too linear! It reminds me of FFXIII and FFXV combined. What I loved about the original was the fact that I could stay in one area and battle enemies to level up, develop new materia, and get new limit breaks!! I’m still playing the game, but I’m not in love with it, like I was in love with the original; I actually want to play the original now! I went to video game art design school, and games like these is why I lost interest in making games - everything is focused on the graphics, instead of the gameplay and storyline!
I remember not wanting to stop playing in the original; stayed up all night; pretended to be sick, so I could stay playing all day instead of going to school; I used to draw the characters over and over again; acted out all of Cloud’s limit breaks; but with this game, nothing! There is no soul to it!
A lot of the cutscenes and mini games are unnecessary! FFXV introduced us to close cameras action; seeing the Behemoth walk right by you as you’re sneaking around was great, but we don’t need to waste time side-walking in a small space anymore - it’s not exiting!
So far, it’s not great! I’ll keep updating the experience. I barely reached level 20, so hope it gets better!
