Made powerful by the performances of the cast and the dramatic scenery. Made powerful because it's so down to earth. The Norwegian Gods are a lot closer to humanity. They are moody, capricious, vengeful, graceful, generous, loving. They aslo die and, why not?, they resurect. 'Bad things happen to good people'. Apparently they happen to the Gods, too, or at least their descendant at the end of the film. He can now control the elements so when he brutally loses his love just as he was discovering it, he loses control of himself and we witness first hand Thor's wrath. So looking forward to the sequel!!!
