A young man seeking his roots. On the way he discovers he can unwillingly interact with the elements with devastating results. Those who fear and hate him want to eliminate him and those who worship him want him to be Thor, the Norwegian God, returning to Earth.
The suspense builds up gradually as the story unfolds without the use of spectacular special effects. A simple story, simply told. Made powerful by the performances of the cast and the dramatic scenery. Made powerful because it's so down to earth. The Norwegian Gods are a lot closer to humanity. They are moody, capricious, vengeful, graceful, generous, loving. They aslo die and, why not?, they resurect.
'Bad things happen to good people'. Apparently they happen to the Gods, too, or at least their descendant at the end of the film. He can now control the elements so when he brutally loses his love just as he was discovering it, he loses control of himself and we witness first hand Thor's wrath.
So looking forward to the sequel!!!
