Quite simply the finest of WW2 mini series. Despite being an American (sorry, but you know what I mean) series, it shuns the pomp and jingoism of the U S of A and tells a story about people caught in the most despirate of times. A truly remarkable, as of yet unsurpassed piece of wartime storytelling. Brilliant.
