I had high hopes for such a program to enlighten, educate, command compassion and deep understanding. Then I realized it was intended as a " horror-fiction" which is a shame. The acting and character development was strong & satisfying. However given the context of our times of past and present trauma both of the characters and the audience it seemed shortsighted & indulgent. While so much of the historical & generational storyline is powerfully provocative, deeply painful, and therefore insightful I wish the producers could have dropped a bit of the sensationalism and allow the horrors to speak for themselves.
