I have no idea how critics could give this film less than a 100% or at least 90 something. 5 out of 5 stars for this movie for me. I am unfortunately a constant cynic about movies. Most of the time they are entertaining for me, but still lacking in some area(s). This movie is different. It is very violent, so I wouldn't recommend it for viewers who would get bothered by that. However, beyond its violence there is a perfectly captivating story. The acting by Nikolai Coster-Waldau as Jacob Harlon, aka 'Money' is an example of great acting, and definitely as well as Jeffrey Donovan's portrayal of an Aryan Brotherhood leader - 'Bottles'. Nikolai Coster-Waldau as Jacob Harlon, aka 'Money' is very convincing when acting like a well off, nice, nonviolent, and seemingly normal person with a great family and career, but even more so as a violent gang member. His story is one of sacrifice. Sacrifice for the safety, well-being, and future of his family - his wife and son. This movie left me thinking about a lot of things, including what what lengths I or someone else might go to keep my family safe. I'm not saying I would do what he did, but his sacrifice for his family really put some things into perspective for me. Like I said, this is a very violent movie, a very disturbing movie as well. However, if you are willing to deal with those things, I believe you will like this movie. It has some very good acting, a captivating story that keeps you at the edge of your seat, and some very emotional moments that will make you think about your own life. This movie is very reminiscent of 'American History X,' so if you liked that movie I'm 100% sure you will like this one too. I highly recommend this movie. 5 out of 5 in my book.
