This sweet and sad yet inspiring movie follows Wain's life remarkably well, and Cumberlatch looks so much like Wain's portraits that it is spooky. Overall it is that best of all bio-pics: a well done, accurate depiction of a little-known person who had an unexpectedly large impact on the world.

This is simply the best historical fiction adaptation of real events I have EVER watched, including the venerable but excellent PBS I, Claudius. The series provides interesting and plausible "background" to what is known of this tumultuous period. Sure, they take liberties - but any good historical fiction MUST. Cast is excellent, as are the sets.
