Very formulaic but still kinda entertaining. Acting was overall ok but ruby rose really didn’t add anything to it…in fact it appeared that she was just spouting memorized lines and practiced moves rather than actually acting. How lucky the victims were that a trained military person was close by during the home invasion! Not exactly a realistic situation but that’s ok. Some of the dialogue was beyond fake and predictable. But otherwise good cinematography, good execution, etc

Well made and well executed but the storyline was predictable and highly overrated for a movie of this caliber. Essentially it was a soul searching experience while subtly comparing abject poverty with debauched luxury. Seems to have begun with a good idea but ultimately fizzled out.

The whole time it seemed like it would start getting good at any moment, but it never did. A generic friendship and relationship storyline that just happened to take place in a space station, yet considers itself a “sci-fi” movie. Boring and dull.

It definitely contains a spectrum of profound human emotions and inter-connectivity, but such a slow moving plot proved disappointing as the movie was essentially advertised as a sci-fi action thriller…the plot it had would have been better suited to a drama or something with a different, more appropriate theme. If a movie is going to take place in space, on Mars, or anywhere so as to represent that which is currently beyond human reach, it belongs in the category of sci-fi and shouldn’t be wasted on a story which could just as easily taken place on earth. Boring.

Where to begin…so the main character looks like she’s 12 even tho she’s supposed to be 30, and even at that age is supposed to be the District Attorney….she looks like a tween dressing up in her mom’s clothes to have a tea party. The brother is supposed to be younger than her and he looks about 26, while the dad literally looks like he’s 40 or so, making the age distinctions incredibly unbelievable. And they made the main character be the D.A., the brother a senator, and the dad be this wealthy and affluent political figure who apparently made all his money by starting out as a cocky college boy who did coke and won at poker. And after the girl discovers the prisoner, she has a perpetually pissed off and reluctant attitude and consistently threatens to just leave him in there because she can’t deal with his demands. As for why her dad imprisoned him in the first place, I couldn’t tell if it was because he raped his then wife-to-be or because he threatened to denounce him to the cops about the hit and run. And honestly the last 20 minutes was just the bad guy providing a one-dimensional account of the past which connected maybe 2 or 3 dots in the storyline without adding any twists or thrills, and came off as an attempt by the director to tie up some loose ends regarding certain details which had been disregarded earlier. Basically this movie was the exact opposite of “thriller.”

This movie was absolutely terrible. The characters were believable but the whole thing was just a long boring string of bizarre, confusing and disjointed events which held zero interest. I kept almost falling asleep and checking the time. There really wasn’t any character development in the regular sense because each new scene was like a different story with unrelated and irrelevant events, all packed into a 2~ hour time slot. The director is also known for his twist endings…in this case it wasn’t so much a twist as finally providing the audience with a shaky and non-compelling explanation, which still left multiple components unanswered. A complete and utter waste of time and money.

After watching this I now can definitively state that watching paint dry on a wall is still the best use of 2 hours. Freddie Highmore should get high more, then maybe his “acting” would be believable. It just seems like his mom was the set designer or something and begged the producers to hire him and that’s the reason he’s even in the movie. The whole thing tries too hard…they manage to put out occasional isolated moments of emotion/deep thinking, but those don’t redeem the overall lack of substance. This is the movie u would watch as a film student to see what *not* to do. I’m ashamed to say I spent $3.99 on it…could have used that money to buy an Ambien and would’ve been a better investment.

Where to begin? The shooting was terrible, the camera made so many clumsy, erratic movements I literally almost threw up from the motion sickness. The sound quality is horrendous, it sounds like each person is talking thru some off-camera ventriloquist voices, altho when someone screams in pain it’s extremely loud and shrill. Except for a few weird songs, there’s zero actual music in the movie, which just adds to its lack of substance. It’s like the absolute worst possible attempt at something similar to Saw 2. Such a waste of time.
