The catharsis which builds up till the first half of the series is really awesome, second to none. But the second half's pacing is all over the place, which tends to mess with the emotions of the audience in a negative way, although it's still worth it. Also, the 'cockpit' thing's also kind of strange. If this concept were to polished, it would be for the better. In any case, this anime will remain among your pleasant memories for a long time.
