*ZSJL Spoilers Ahead*
I wasn't really a follower of comic book films until I saw MoS. I had never read DC comics before watching the film (I still don't). The crush I had on Henry Cavill back then made me read more about the blogs that discussed the script and the comics referred to for the film and the subsquent ones. Then came BvS and its Ultimate Cut and watching both films made me realise how much damage can executive studios do to kill a director's creativity by meticulously cutting off pivotal scenes that would have made a film whole if you had just left it as is.
When Justice League 2017 came out, I had read a lot of blogs about the film would include the Knightmare and the introduction of Martian Manhunter. But when I saw the film, I thought that it turned out to be just an attempt to lighten up the universe because many people had apparently complained about how dark BvS was.
And now after watching the Snydercut, I was baffled about how right the blogs were about Martian Manhunter and the inclusion of the Knightmare scenes, which gives the right continuation to BvS. And to draw a comparison between the JL 2017 cut and the Snydercut, I found the jokes and the visual effects in the latter to be 1000x better than the former. The jokes and VFX in the former were absolutely crass!
