I enjoyed it...I have studied the Manson case
for years, so I have watched all of the films
associated with the topic. While most
of the Manson films that come out in recent decades have left me with that "Beating a dead horse" feeling, as do most of the books that have come out, something about this film was different. I think they did a great job of casting for the most part...While the lead actors
Playing Lulu, Charlie, Katie, Sadie and Tex
Did not necessarily look like the characters, they
we're all adept at capturing the attitudes and mannerisms of the person they were playing.
Several of the supporting cast members bore
Striking resemblance to their characters, most
Notably Squeaky, Gypsy, Little Paul, Sharon Tate, and to a lesser degree, Sandy. I felt the film gave the Manson story a bit of a "fresh face", and if you are interested in True Crime, The Manson Family, Or The 60's, I think you will find this film enjoyable, That said, for those hardcore Tate:
Labianca Murder/Manson Family students out
there, and I know there are many.... Do not
expect this film to be the one that finally gets
that perfect score for historical or geographical
Accuracy. I would say it's better than many that have come out over the years, but as far as sheer
perfection goes, we are still waiting.
