I made it 25 mins.
25 mins of horrible dialogue, poor music choices and unbelievable and unrelatable characters.
I was actually excited for the film given the nature of the concept. I always enjoy post apocalyptic and pre apocalyptic stories. But the one thing besides Ethan Hawk that really got me wanting to see it, was the very first shot and curiosity as to why the director made it a point to place the numeral 666 in it.
Ethan Hawks coffee cup has the number 6 on it, his clock is at 6, and his wife's clock is also at 6. Now you might say "of course, its just that time in the am in the story". However the addition of the coffee cup and the suspicious covering of her clock allowing only the 6 to be shown assures me it was intentional. Personally I don't buy into that sort of thing, but I do pay attention to people that do. If someone believes kicking puppies down stairs will give the powers, even though we know it won't, its better for everyone if we keep them away from pet stores at tops of stairs, wouldn't you agree?
