Bit of hallmark, safe entertainment. Perfectly fine for young adult entertainment. **The car coordinator should be fired through. The opening scene between 2 of the slowest malaise era "muscle" cars is almost laughable. As it's central point revolves around the car scene they could have done much, much better in the selection of vehicles.

A good story ruined by bad casting, bad direction, bad acting. I'll give it a couple of stars for it's view into Japan and it's location photography. That said, Mop Head would never get a job anywhere that required any amount of professionalism. A combination of bad acting and direction have him constantly racing around like he's an action hero instead of a print reporter. He's rude, acts like a loud foreigner. The only reason he lives through season 1 is plot armor. The good/bad thing is there are plenty of nuggets of Japanese society and culture drizzled through this, you just have to ignore the antics of Mop Head.

Absolute drek. About what is normal for "Main Network" programming these days. I'm not even sure why they bother with writers when these scripts could be churned out by A.I. by the hundreds. DEI - ✔️ (and so generic they neither add or subtract from the weak story) Villian/antagonist = "Evil white person" ✔️ (as usual) Product placement - ✔️ "get your truck to the shop" pan to brand new GMC pickup. Magic - ✔️ Not sure why they needed magic, but Mr 6pk recovers from gun shots in hours. Again, just normal "CBS" Cookie cutter action/drama. Unfortunately this one doesn't have the draw of likeable characters or actors.

I've finished the first 3 episodes. It follows the 90s format of Sit-Com right down to the laugh track. I'm reserving complete judgment until they've had a bit more time to adjust and settle in. *Remember the original was a spin off of Cheers, and brought some of that talent with them. Even then it was not immediately a success. Personally I'd ditch or recast the nephew he's too much of an Urkle and slapstick never really worked in Fraser

A Fantasy/Adventure show written for "Modern Audiences". Note, while the producers licensed the title and associated content from the original book series written by Robert Jordan any similarities stop there. If you've never read the original book series you may find this program mildly entertaining as long as you can look past Modern writing and casting targeted towards Modern Audiences. If you've read the books. Stop, just don't. You'll find yourself on the spectrum of annoyed to possibly enraged at the bastardisation of Jordan's world and characters.

Well now we know where the writers from all the canceled CW programs landed. Girl bosses abound, not only are they the smartest but 110lb girls can go full WaifFu on a room full of men who out mass her by a good 60+lbs. Seriously, the entire crew was supposed to be the best and brightest. Who else would you send on the vanguard mission to setup a species saving colony. Most of the characters introduced wouldn't have gotten past an initial psych screening.

Love Alan Cummings, that said.. OMG talk about being on "The Message", Most of the first season was decent, I'll even forgive the "Mary Sue/Waifu" which has become standard for network TV. If you binge you'll notice that all the murderers are white, The sympathetic murderers were abused by their white fathers. Incels are now an organized group, rather than random people who have dropped out of the dating scene. Calling a female "Stacy" is enough to incite rage and physical assault. Look, I liked the premise, and most of the first season was tolerable, if you can get past 5'4" 115lb women beating up 6'2" 200lb men. But after a point the "All White Men Bad" message drags the entire thing down.

Opening 40min or so is the only reason I'm going as high as 3 stars. The "satire" was more understated and neutral in the opening 1/3rd of the movie. I could see where "wingers" might take a beating for not liking it. But I enjoyed the commentary on the mainstream and social media. Chasing algorithms, media consultants etc. Where they really lost me was when they went into full blown Trump/MAGA etc parody mode. Nice way to insult half of your audience. The cast did a reasonably good job with the material they were handed. I just really feel disappointed that the art of subtlety has been replaced with a desperate need to be On Message.

I could feel brain cells dying as this went on. Zero redeeming qualities.
