I had to think about this movie a lot before I decided to write a review. I’ve also read many reviews of this movie and that’s not always a good thing. One of the over arching sentiments was that of confusion. I believe the movie was designed to be somewhat confusing hazy and blurred the lines between reality and fantasy. I believe this was done intentionally because the life of a drug addict is a life of blurred reality. The movie is quite disturbing because it does take you on an inside ride in the mind of a drug addict. When you look at what this addict was going through and then you remember the people you see on the street that are in another world mumbling to themselves and doing things that don’t make any sense. It’s suddenly becomes clear as to what they May be experiencing. For that I give this movie very high marks. I found the movie to be eye-opening and I gained a greater empathy towards those with addiction.
