The whole book is amazing. The story is told in the POV of Alejandro Pardo who seems to be travelling around noting mythical creatures and sometimes interacting with them, almost costing his life in the process. There is no specific plot to follow for this book functions like an encyclopedia of mythical creatures. The font choice fits the book. Even the colors of the page that make an illusion of its papers surviving being burnt from a flame go so well with the cover and the idea of it being a lost journal. The sketches of the creatures in this book is also really interesting, being made out of pencil hatches. Out of all the books I have read on Philippine mythology, this is my favorite.
