Here is the Old Broad review. Spade reminds me of Jack Paar, when Paar hosted the Tonight Show. As much as I Iove the monologue and the group zingfest, his short anecdotes at the end of some shows can be the funniest bits of all.
The similarity to Paar goes right down to having one child, a young daughter, about whom he tells stories. Spade's story about taking his daughter to Magic Mountain had me crying with laughter. ("People staggered off the ride and called their lawyers.")
I love the show and never miss it.
