This movie could not have come at a better time. With all the negativity in 2020, this movie is a belly laugh of campiness and dialogues mixed with great scenery and terrific songs. Will Ferrell is at his best, Rachel McAdams works so well with Will. Dan Stevens is a pleasant surprise. I love the songs and have watched it 10 times so far.

Having seen the play 3 times, I was expecting a let down from a movie version. I really enjoyed the movie. The big screen allows you to do things you can’t do on stage, like having tails move in unison or ears act on their own. The songs brought me back to the originals and I think that people who are saying this was creepy do not understand the playful nature of the movie and characters. Francesca Haywood should get a lot more credit. James Corden, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen were naturals and who else could pull off one of the greatest songs from a play than Jennifer Hudson. I could see it again immediately.
