If I had not read the book series years ago I probably would have enjoyed this series more. However, since I have, I was disappointed on the direction of the characters were written. The charming banter and wit the author wrote the characters is endearing. I loved the family and the way Julia Quinn portrayed them. This tv series has none of that. Disappointing. Violet and Anthony Bridgerton's characters were written so shallow and weak. In addition, the roles of minor characters in the book being portrayed more up front. There were moments of the characters I fell in love with in the book was revealed in the series, but just moments. I was so excited when I learned of the series, but have to admit I am disappointed. The one thing the series did do was to draw me back into the book series to read again and refamiliarize myself with the solid and loving Bridgerton family that Julia Quinn penned.
