I really really wanted to love this book. Mr Mercedes is a masterpiece and I adore Stephen King, especially the quirkier ones like Kingdom Hospital BUT from the very beginning, this book felt like it was pushing at me to put it down. There is so much anti Trump and anti "Anti Big Pharma" rhetoric that if you are one of the unvaccinated among us, you will probably feel really uncomfortable. Its almost like King is goading you to take the book back to where you bought it - you are not worthy to read it, unless you repent, roll your sleeve up and close your eyes to any negative Astra Zenica news! Sorry, it really put a bitter swing on it. Especially as someone who lost family through 2020-21 because of lockdown. I don't need pressuring, when trying to escape into a book. So sorry Holly - I loved you as a character, especially in The Outsiders too, I just don't think you would be all masky and judgemental... It really detracts from what would've been an amazing book.

Very slow burn, some "twists" you can see coming a mile away. Held on and watched the whole thing BUT very dissapointing.
