After watching this only one question...why didn't this movie become popular, critically acclaimed? The city is a living throbbing presence in each frame. Interesting, inadvertent mix of the classes!

Excellent..perhaps this was Irrfan Khan at his best....restrained but so emotion rich with so little effort. Strong, believable story line. The scenic beauty of Bangladesh a perfect backdrop. Not one extra or wasted shot or extra line of dialogue

Strong storyline, excellent acting places this movie a notch above the rest. Instant government decisions have far-reaching impact, a family moves from being upper middle class to nowhere. The tension increases with every scene as a youngster unravels the reasons for his father's death. Real life, strongly scripted, not an easy watch. Excellent.

Where was Sushmita Sen all this while? She effortlessly carries the series on her shoulders. Great pacing. Sharp dialogue..The pieces of the jigsaw come together at the end, only at the end. Binge watched. Waiting for season 2.

Beautiful location. You feel the cold, battle the breeze. I felt it got over too soon...but like life, never all the ends tied, never all the t's crossed. I liked the movie, I liked the sudden end.

The audience loved this movie. Some lines I must admit i laughed at. Something in me bristled at this misuse and depiction of martial arts. Anyone vaguely familiar with these areas knows...misuse this knowledge and it fades away. But perhaps that is an Asian concept...

Aging director getting his life back on track...so this is the plotline for 80% of the film's duration. And in the rest of the movie we watch it take another track altogether as he destroys all he had carefully built. Sadly the two pieces of the film don't quite fit. An older man would hopefully have the sense and maturity to let things well be.

A brilliant but simple movie about fate and defying fate...panoramic shots of the Nile and the desert...there were 8 movies in the last 40 years from Sudan but this one really raises the bar for the next 40 years!

What a completely brilliant movie. I cried after ages, following Judy Garland on one downturn after another...wanted so desperately that she survive, that she excel. The art direction is faultless, specially London of the 70's . What a voice...and what a price to pay !

Enjoyed it. The ending stays with you for a long time. Authentic locale whether the chawls of East Delhi or the luxurious homes of South Delhi. The acting was on the spot. The only issue I had with the story was that a lawyer as sharp as Ms Agarwal doesn't read Amal's incomprehension...bit thats another story, ok...
