Character building is above most recent series. The writers have done an excellent job in making you uncertain on whether to like or dislike a character. When I was younger I looked forward to watching The Golden Compass and they didn't have time to elaborate on the characters, so I am loving His Dark Materials. The CGI is not LION KING quality, but it is really good and more than just watchable. The story line is a little hard to follow in the first few episodes of season 1, but once you grasp where the show is going, you will be hooked. I am extremely excited for season 3.
