I used to watch the Young Turks religiously and during that time, I found myself being fearful of the future, hating and being scared of cops, wanting "revenge" for past wrongs and overall, just being negative. I then decided to look into the things they report since I had free time at work and while I heard them with my headphones, I would type things into google on my work computer. They skew the news and feed you the portions that follow their narrative and ignore when they are wrong. They divide people along racial lines and make you a scared puppet for their games. I have since decided to watch them with an open eye, and go to them for a progressive news angle. My life is now happier and more trusting now that I don't believe the government is out to wipe me and my family out and that cops aren't going to murder me senselessly. Seriously, I find my older brother still watching them and he is currently depressed, always pointing out the negative horrible things that the Young Turks have convinced him are a larger problem than they are. "And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you" I feel this can be applied to the Young Turks, in that, if you watch nothing but the evil and negative of the world as the Young Turks portrays it, YOU yourself will be enveloped by it. Take what the Young Turks says and reports with a grain of salt and ALWAYS look further into stories, especially when they say it was a cause of racism.
