Fun movie. Great mix of action, humor, excellent fighting choreography, great acting, likeable characters, loathable characters, decent plot and decent writing for a movie of this pace. Great mix of Bourne, Wick, Mission Impossible, and Nice Guys.

Just awful. Entertaining enough for a TV movie on a rainy day. Acting is par at best. Premise is so bad. Writing is awful. Characters are absurdly fictional. Frankly I never understood how this movie was successful to the extent it was. Even at the time, 30 years ago, it was so outlandish and over the top. The only thing that was interesting to me was their version of the Aliens and what they looked like and how they operated. Otherwise I'd say they could have cut 85% of the absurd side stories out of the movie that they tried to use to attract as many demographics as possible and it would have been much better.

The movie was a nice change of direction for the backstory of Mufasa, someone who was large only in name through the movies. The scenery was really cool and used as a character throughout the film as the land they traverse is their heaven on earth. Fit for a King. However the movie was also very predictable and short of imagination like so many other writers these days who are lazily either writing origins or remakes of past great movies. The songs were terrible at best outside maybe 1 and they felt overly Lin Manuel Miranda in style. Not a compliment outside of Hamilton. It also felt like a civil service message and very purposeful, politically liberal rhetoric. While the "lessons" taught in most Disney movies since they began making movies has always been part of the recipe, lately they have been overboard where it's not subtle and very blatantly one sides. Especially when looking at today's social climate in the us and the fake racism narrative pushed by liberals politicians who are on tour pledging to end white supremacy and thus save the world it seemed very obvious the "outsiders" were the villains the happened to be the all white lion pack. They also overkilled the "everyone is beautiful and perfect as they are" which for anyone who actually believes in that doesn't think about it or try to push it on people bc its just normal to us. But the left needs to have people to save in order to have people to villainize and they really went for it as usual in this one. For once it would be nice to see a great movie written without trying to prove a point, join a movement, or teach society a lesson. Just make a good movie that brings people together by being happy they watched a movie that wasn't PC in every sentence. THAT would be true humility and equality. Only those who see everyone as truly different and inferior to another feel the need to address it. When everyone is put into a category of human as a box to check then people will feel separated. I have 3 boxes - human, male, female.
Overall it's worth watching, but you'll see.

Interesting twist to a typical movie theme about a down and out dreamer desperately needing change in his life as he views himself a failure and thus easy targets for a villain. Bateman plays an excellent villain as showcased in Ozark where his quick wit and smooth intellect makes him convinced he's always perfectly in control. The writers did a good job making a terrorist plot seem plausible and kept me ready for whatever would come next. Overall the acting was good, not great but good enough. The ending could have been tweaked a bit to make it feel as realistic as the prior 70 mins but such are action movies. Very entertaining and worth watching.
I give it 4 out of 5 Brad Nails.

I was very surprised by the level of entertainment this movie had. I thought it looked terrible to be honest until I saw the cast talking about how much it meant to all of them as a true Christmas movie and they genuinely meant it. That inspired me to watch. They were right. It was creative, action packed, excellent plot to compete with the billions of Christmas movies ever made and wasn't so over the top that it would mocking the themes. The acting was very good. It was for all ages 10-12 and up. I always enjoy new creative takes on modernizing Santa and how he can pull off his magic in a fun way. This was just that. I can say when it ended my spirits were unquestionably higher and that's saying a lot considering some of the difficulties life can bring at times in this increasingly disconnected society. I found it inspiring without being patronizing and funny to the point of laughing out loud a few times. The villains were fun and it very much felt like being taken on an imaginary and mystical ride. Santa is one of the best creations in all of human history and this was another peak at another evolutionary step forward into how he will continue to advance with the times without losing his mystique.

This is a very good feel good story that also comes at a time when the importance of moral victory is as important as any monetary amount.

Absolutely brilliantly told story about the power of nature, evolution, and the beauty of our one in a billion world that is truly like no other. It ties every single thing on earth together by taking us back in time when the universe began through a series of violent events and how chance and being at the right place at the right time started it all.
The cinematography is spectacular with some of the most beautiful images I've ever seen while the complex science of it all is put forth in a mesmerizing and easily understandable manner for those of all ages. It's one the the best things I've ever seen.
