One of the most entertaining programs ever!!! Great production values, top notch cast, and not your standard crime drama where everyone is suspect with a million secrets. ITV, which produced it, decided to cancel it after 4 seasons. They should have at least produced one more season to finish it up. But ITV seems to do this on a some what regular basis. They also produced the tv series "HOMEFIRES" , and cancelled this well loved series after only two seasons with so many story lines incomplete and dangling. They gave the same reason for cancelling both these series, saying they wanted to "enlarge" their dramatic portfolio. What an awful group must be running the ITV network. Anyway, Whitechapel is one of the best crime series I've ever seen. Every few months, I binge watch the entire series on DVD and never lose my enthusiasm for it. FYI; I am an American who saw it on Public Television here in New York. And I love British Television!!!
