Absolutely underwhelming film, cinematography was great, and the music was good (mostly) hence the 3 stars. But the plot is so casual and unexciting, I struggle to see what type of new-age social commentary or outlandishly good story line this is (I understand it is to signify the choice between money, career and love).
The movie follows a love story, but its just so average. It follows a pretty typical love story with the generic message of 'chasing your dreams and follow your passions', in a more specific context of artists in modern day Los Angeles, but that is about it.
It's just a love story with a few ups, and downs, and ultimately they are not together for the sake of their respective careers...
This same story could be illustrated in a love story between 2 random couples, where one has to leave cities because of a new job offer and the other must stay because their current job is satisfactory. (It's not a perfect analogy, but it illustrate the bulk of the idea)
