Their best effort, by far. COTB operating at full capacity, with each member taking a turn to show their distinctive style. The album opens up with the signature "Chairman of The Board" song. With writing credits owing to the song writing team of Holland/Dozier, it is plain to see why this was their new record label's flagship act. Next up is the wonderfully magic "Everything's Tuesday". This song is my personal favorite, as it gives example of the unique vocal styling of lead singer General Johnson. Danny Woods starts the next track off as he tells the world if you dance to the music, you have to "Pay to the Piper". Side 1 finishes up with the coming of age tune "Patches", sung from the heart by General Johnson. This song was made famous by another artist, but it's the General's story, and in my opinion, he sings it better.
Side 2 keeps it coming with "It was almost something", a song felt deep from within of unrequited love. Do yourself a favor and check out the 4th song on side 2 "I can't find myself". Again, General Johnson shows his chops of one of the best singers of his generation.
