Know nothing of the book series. Greatly appreciate the varied back stories presented in some of the episodes. As we close in on the final episode of season 1, excited to have found out a 2nd season is planned. Thus far, a fun series to watch with the wife as when I met her 15yrs ago, she wasn't much of a fan of sci/fi or fantasy.
