Fact of the matter is it didn't stick with the series or almost any of the back story. Ignoring the previous sequels and the fact that Laurie Store was Michaels sister was a bold move and though the movie was decent, for a die hard halloween fan such as myself it felt as though watching the previous movies was a waste of my time. Also it rather angered me that they did not mention Laurie Strodes other two children Jamie from 4 and 5 and her son from H2O really bothered me. It would have been amazing if they tied all the movies together with the exception of The Curse of Michael Myers because even too a die hard fan that movie was garbage. It saddens me to have to give such a review on what is truley an iconic franchise. I feel that the writers were very lazy in not including any of that back story and should be ashamed of themselves
