I read it after Norwegian wood.and am very disappointed.this book has nothing and I feel disgusted about magical realism of Mr Murakami. The standard of magical realism is one fixed by G.G.Marquez.and this sheep chase novel is black patch on the genre of magical realism.i feel cheated while reading it.i thought why I purchased this book on such high price by vintage.and secondly what I am getting from this novel not a meaningful story neither prose.and what a good prose may be if it has no substantial story line.A man well dressed but no intellect.
Norwegian wood is so far the best of Murakami and I think he is better when he is not writing magical realism.

Story not very impressive but writing is good. Reading it was like reading Hemingway and Bukowaski.where character do alot of talking and walking.Like books of Bukowaski it has drinking, singing and good sex scenes. The amazing part of writing is that with all the above Murakami still succeeds in enveloping it with a coating of sadness. One of those books which appears to be less impressive while reading but when it is finished it appears awesome and we feel to read it again.
