I appreciate the different arguments that Cuomo has been providing on the Impeachment question. But there are two things which are distracting Americans from the truth about the situation. First, while living in the District of Columbia back in 1979-early 1981, the House passed barring ANY cell phones or other electronic devises within the House during the closed door sessions and public testimony of the Iran Contra matters. The sensitivity of the information required that every thing be kept confidential. I remember that the Senate was arguing the matter, saying that they wanted to know what was going on (just like know). To enforce the rule, any Congressman caught with ANY electronic devise was to be in "contempt of Congress"! (I am not sure if this rulling is still in effect, but if not, why not?) Last week, when Senators disrupted and stalled the House on its agenda for justice, I was infuriated to learn that they were stalling the hearings based on the criteria that they wanted to know what was going on behind closed doors.( Why does EVERY Congressman think they have the power to change the system?) Too many Republicans think that Congressional Hearings, including the Impeachment Process, are similar to regular trials in County, District, and State courts! The Impeachment Process is different DUE to different states having the option to establish different court systems, even though they follow some general guidelines. As early as this next Thursday, The House is scheduled to decide on the Impeachment agenda. Which brings me to the second concern: IF the Senate REFUSES to pass the Impeachment of Donald Trump (who does not display any traits of a President, therefore I do not consider him one), this entire country will be in a CONSTITUTIONAL CRISES! The Republican Party is too concerned with its agenda, and power to dominate, not only Congress, but also the people. In earlier history, people were requesting social change in education, business, the economy, while also adressing political change needed for more democratic stability and political involvement. The world does not remember this incident, because it occurred in 1917 as the start of the Bolshevik Revolution, in Russia. The Republican insistence that other legislation needs to be addressed and the Impeachment of Donald Trump needs to be dropped, is not only immoral, its unethical, undemocratic, and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The Republicans in the Senate need to allow the House to complete its work, and then do its work upon voting for the Impeachment. It is incomprehensible for me to understand how or why the Senate provokes issues and does not represent the people. When the Senate votes against the Impeachment of Donald Trump, they are promoting the 'bullying', irrationality, and destruction of our American Republic and this Democracy. Republicans have adapted Donald Trump's ideology to harass, name call, lie in efforts to solidify the Party--NOT represent the ideas and concerns of the People. When the Senate votes on Impeachment, they will be voting not only as a Party attempting to retain their party as a whole, but ALSO voting to retain this democracy for EVERY citizen in this county. Sadly, my Idaho delegation will not consider the serious implications of this upcoming vote.
Trump has now infected the entire Republican Party, in different branches and states with increased harassment, lies, deceit, name calling, and bullying. Minority groups are treated like groups of people being lead to German Concentration Camps, and the national judicial system is now hiring judges who are not even part of the American Bar Association. So, with the judicial system running against the unstable Congress, Trump Will win in all branches of government, and turn toward a Dictatorship.
Just watch!
