Not a bad series, it just tries way too hard. The dialogue is witty if you're a sassy 12 year old. The concept itself is interesting enough to keep my attention throughout the series. I feel like though that this is a teenie flick made by adults who think this is what teens wanna see. To some extent they are right. It feels forced the whole "woke" theme amongst the kids, however it's quite cliche. Almost breaking their necks to say "hey we understand the youth" i feel it falls short on authenticity in this area. Sub par acting and lame wit made me chuckle and chortle here and there. But overall this series really lacked the original edge it seemed to be going for. My biggest beef with the series is that it's just too cliché. I will say having The RZA narrating for Wesley was a treat. However the cliche being that the "black kid" has to come from "Compton" as if that's the only place near LA that black people exist. That kinda upset me...and the obvious lack of Latino representation, i mean seriously, Los Angeles Is a majority hispanic and yet we only get ONE white latina in the show and she eats maggots...great job on the diversity drive. Anyway, all in all...it's not a total let down and if you're a brainless moron who is easily amused, go for it ...you will love this. Hoyles, out.
