Absolutely awful. An absolute embarrassment for everyone involved.

This is so slooooooooow! And the characters are all given clothing, styled movements and dialogue to supposedly make them look epic but which only make them pretentious and silly like a 13 year old child's puerile imagination of fascist majesty. Sterile, derivative, effortlessly boring someone should ensure the director, designers, producers etc never work in the entertainment industry again. Did I mention it was teeth clenchingly sloooooooooow!

This is so bad it's actually enjoyable if you like slapping yourself upside the head while watching soap opera. Every second sentence is just plain wrong. OK, the broad narrative is vaguely based on real history but the detail is just embarrassing in its total "wrongness". Roman consuls did not "rule" over the senate. Even the mildest suggestion of 'ruling' would have been enough to get you exiled and if you really tried it would be enough to get you assassinated. That is precisely what happened to Julius Caesar. On a lighter but no less ridiculous note why do Pompey, Crassus and Caesar all walk around with beards every day? The Romans of that time despised beards as an effeminate Greek affectation. They wouldn't have been caught dead in public with a beard! Lastly, Pompey was definitely a shallow show pony but he did not say "don't bring down the mood." I was ROFL and Caesar was 'like, totes bae! "
