This show doesn't efficiently portray the hardships of what we 1st generation Indian Americans go through. The acting is disappointing and the main character is truly very unlikeable. Fashion choices are terrible and very immature. The storyline follows the very generic "wannabe popular highschooler" plot and doesn't have a set focal point. The show's storyline could be made up in 2 minutes, it lacks depth and sincerity. The fact that this is the only show that we South Indians depend on really hurts and further perpetuates the Indian stereotype. The plot can be easily guessed and is really predictable. The surrounding cast was bearable, however, the main character is absolutely infuriating. It doesn't have a strong and withholding message... and is ultimately a superficial take on the struggles of 1st generation Indian Americans. No, our main focus is not on attending parties with hard drugs or getting our cherries popped.. whew...
