(Spoilers) This book made me feel a lot of feelings. It was sort of like watching the play Hamlet, where you watch someone’s life go to hell and you, as the audience, just watched. At times, I felt really guilty for turning each page because I knew that by the end, they would both be gone. And Adam Silvera did a really great job at turning an entire lifetime into one day. I started off reading the book with comfort knowing that I could just rewind anytime all the way back in to the beginning. But now, I feel a mix of hope and despair, knowing that the book’s words will always stay the same but because of those words, I’ve realized I should live each day like Mateo and Rufus’ last. This was also the first book that I couldn’t stop reading and actually made me cry and actually made images into my head. This was by far, one of the best books I’ve ever read. Thank you, Silvera, for writing this.
