I dont mind this reboot so much and think it had good potential but agree with other reviewers that the political agenda is a big disappointment. When I watch a show i want to be able to immerse myself and forget the real world. I dont want to be bombarded by constant barbs into politics. I also am disappointed in Michael's and Maria's relationship becoming Michael and Alex. I have nothing against homosexuality but this was not the way to represent it in this show. The writers should have found a different way to incorporate this if they really felt the need for it. AS others have said, creating a gay main character is fine but it gets old when every single show is doing the same thing. I personally love the gay characters and story lines of Shameless, Outlander, and a few others but those were not forced by politics. I'm not sure if I'll continue watching, I wanted this to be good and do like alot of what they are doing but the turn offs are weighing just as heavily right now.
