I had really high expectation since folks compared it to Tumbbad, I mean Tumbbad was an epic, and Betaal is a JOKE. Just because you create a bleak dark atmosphere and rainy days doesn't mean it can get scary. For following reasons it is a disappointment 1. MOST IMP, the scary so called zombie/ghost has red LED lights for eye, almost looked like a toy my kid owns, they had rather keep eyes hollow 2. Unwanted taglines "this is for jalian wala baug" this is for Bhagat singh" I mean comon dont throw tag lined dialogues when they arent needed as the scene becomes funny 3. More Funny dialogues ..one guys seems to be an engineer and says i was ranker, kids looked up to me in college etc and the soilders says "yeh sab tum muhje kyu bata raje ho" and and my husband cracked up!!!!!!!! 4. flawed story line, you can clear see a drag in the story line when some actions could have cut short but well they wanted to drag it i guess 5. ONLY ONE good point: The character Puniya, good acting, good dialogue delivery Thats it over all Betaal was a great disappointment. If you are watching it because you heard it like Tumbbad PLEASE dont watch Mirzapur, Patal Lok, Made in Heaven, Jamtara if you want to watch real good stuff!!!!
