The way I see it, Luce is about a victim of a war torn country who is trying to hide his past from society by acting like a perfect American teenager, but can’t escape his past. Or, the movie is about an evil teenager who’s contrasting political views were influenced by his seven years of upbringing in a war torn country, the boy’s objective in the movie is to rebel against America’s political views by ruining the lives of others in order to make a point. Overall, the movie is terrifying as it leaves the audience guessing what is going on inside Luce’s head, as we are never sure what his main objective is. We don’t know if his struggles are real, or if it’s an act in order to fool the society he is trying to take over.
