Shallow dialogue, no heart, no depth of character development, no engine behind the plot line, seems like it's based Loosely on historical events, but could have probably dug more into the character's lifestyles, some of the cuts, and time changes, and reorientations are so chaotic and jarring, also it seems like another flick made purely to entertain High people, shut in miniseries Style w no cinematic boldness, could have been much more inventive, could have gone into more depth. Some pretty good acting, and definitely can see the talent behind the film, but just everything seemed to be spread apart. It seems like a movie that was just trying to be a movie in order that it could be called a pretty good movie. Also series of Jabs at Christians. For no reason at all. Honestly, my friends and I as we watched it we're throwing up our hands at every new plot twist and cringing at some of the dialogue, especially when it tried to be heartfelt or intense, or deep. I saw another comment that said it was the best movie somebody ever watched in their whole life. If you read these next three sentences, you have saved yourself 2 hrs. A man wants more honor and so he goes on an expedition to the Amazonian jungle and fines some pottery, then he returns home years later and kisses his wife, and argues with her about gender roles, then returns to the Jungle and doesn't find anything, but gets to chill with some cannibals, then returns home and kisses his wife and his children are older and that makes him sad, and then he goes to World War 1 and some people die, and somebody gets shot in the face, and he gets temporarily blinded, and he goes back to the Jungle with his son and they both are captured by natives and maybe die. The end.
