I saw this movie while traveling Europe visiting London when it came out. If you never been to a London’s Empire theater in Leicester Square (think Mann”s theater in Hollywood but 20x better) it is a soup to nuts experience even back in 1987. The movie is an extremely well thought out and told story. Secured Spielberg as a master story teller. The care in details, film angle, and touching moments were executed what seemed like a lot of care. Serious good character development. You really get immersed in the film. Between the movie and where I was watching it I came away with one of the best movie going experiences of my life.
I find myself watching at any point of this film til end every time I catch it on TV.
Ben Stiller and Christian Bale have what in common? Both of their first commercial movie acting in. Go figure.
