I absolutely loved this film!! The slow build up, the confrontational scenes, especially between Peter Lorre and Sidney Greenstreet; the complex plot, the excellent dialogue!!! all well crafted and beautifully acted. Each actor was stellar in their roles and the scenes in nightclubs, hotel rooms, apartments and streets were perfect.. The film had me on the edge of my seat!!!

I just saw "If Beale Street Could Talk" and it was so beautiful and powerful my heart is still beating wildly!! I had read James Baldwin's book and didn't think anyone could make a film out of his poetic, powerful, profound words but Barry Jenkins, the actors and everyone involved did it!!! The film was so close to the images I saw in my head when reading the book it made me cry. The beauty and depth that Mr. Jenkins and everyone involved put into telling Mr. Baldwin's powerful, heartbreaking story has been breathtaking. And the song at the end was so sad and beyond perfect. Thank you Mr. Jenkins and everyone who made what I thought was impossible, possible.
