I was expecting cheap money-grabs using marketable characters and names from earlier marvel properties. What I got instead was a really awesome story with compelling characters. The premise they were doing? Took some godly acting chops to sell, regardless of your special fx budget. But damned if they didn't knock it out of the park! They're doing what I always hope anything hollywood will do, taking chances again and telling original stories. No more Thor: Darkworld, instead characters with stories we're getting invested in and caring about, and they don't scream the stakes at you and expect you to care, they let you find out as the characters do and that leads to a MUCH better immersive experience. I've been ignoring the other marvel disney + things because I'm a cynic but now... I think I gotta go back and check them out too!
