After a strong and promising first season and a decent second season, 'From' finally manages to become just another boring so-called mystery series with a lacklustre third season.
Probably around 90% of the scenes in Season 3 are just characters constantly screaming at each other. The supernatural premise we began with has now been fobbed off in favour of just constant neverending arguments like some reality TV show, to the point that who even cares what the mystery is anymore when all these characters have now lost their individuality and are just in screaming matches with each other.
It's also painfully obvious how much of Season 3 is just copied from LOST. There's a (supposedly) super awesome cop who ends up in the town and immediately kills one of the residents by accident but still ends up being a part of the roster. Ana Lucia, much?
And also, why the hell is Sara still walking around freely? Why are Jim and Tabitha comfortable letting her talk to their kids? She's literally a murderer, yet nobody in the town seems to care about that anymore.
Victor was the only character who showed any promise but even he with his constant flippancy became boring. They brought his dad into it in season 3 and then that doesn't even go anywhere either. Not really.
It's pretty lacklustre in terms of kill count as well. Aside from one or two, almost every major character from the first season is still alive at this point. Which would be fine if this wasn't supposed to be horror, but it is, yet the monsters are unbelievably weak and easy to counter. In the third season especially, they are ridiculously non-scary. They decide to try and break Boyd rather than kill him (because plot armour, of course), but this just leads to embarrassing moments such as one of the monsters literally handing Boyd the keys to an ambulance so he can escape, in return for which he sacrifices another resident (who doesn't even die there, by the way).
I'm honestly amazed this show is getting a fourth season. The writers clearly don't care about it, the actors always look bored out of their minds, and there's literally no hook left to make me want to come back for Season 4. Three years this show has had to give some answers, and instead it's decide to just devolve into characters shouting at each other.
