As a small business owner I was contacted by HGTV to film at my Wine Bar and Restaurant, part of the episode when the people make their decision of which home to buy, Being paid nothing for this but thought it would be fun for me and my staff. They also stated that they would take footage of the front of my business and sign. I thought this would be a great way for my business to have some great exposure. The day of the shoot we spent hours our time making sure the place looked great and the film crew took 2 or more hours of filming and set up. The people buying a home sipped on wine ate appetizers charcuterie and cheeses. Well when the episode aired there was no shots of my business or sign no mention of where the couple were when making there decision of which house to buy, while sipping on my wine and eating my food.
Nice way for corporate America to use small business owners for their gain.
