Beloved friends, it is not often that I type out an excruciatingly long review on a movie, however, the time has yet again arrived in the form of one of my own most beloved films. From an early age I eagerly ate up the romanticization of a loveless relationship of a father and son on the basis of one mistake. From there, I was absolutely engorged by the intimate yet meaningless relationship between Ace and Buck that only tunneled deeper as the reader realized that any love between young Ace and father Buck was cascaded between Ace's success and failure. Later that same success was profited upon by Ace's own father and abused to the point where the relationship between the two relied heavily upon the win - pointing out for one moment that Buck had previously put not an ounce of faith in his own son and brutally shamed him for any attempts at impressment. Later one can see how vicariously Buck was living his own dreams through his young and slightly traumatized son. Ace wants to love, but that only comes after he has been a good boy, and good boy he is not when yet again a piece of sky falls ever so ~gently~ upon his crown. At first, the viewer may be confused about how an infant chicken has not been killed by the wrath of a thicc piece of metal; however, as Modern English once so boldly sang, the viewer would stop the world and melt with you, Ace, and that they did. In a truly romantic and encapsulating turn of events, the viewer has no choice but to fall into the seductive hands of the magic of animation in power with the intense usage of color and music. Ace is dearly loved and hopefully, any concussions sustained from the 2 pieces of metal that fell on his head will be treated and any necessary care will proceed. In all 5/5 in a close tie with Planes Fire & Rescue and Posiden Rex <3
This movie teaches one the importance of winning the baseball game so that your father will love you, but, dear children don’t fall to this, instead fall to any of the character’s eyes and remember that love should never be based upon your wins and losses because that is what makes you and if they won’t take the loses than they are an a55 and you deserve better <3
