While it contains biased and racist influences that would be unacceptable today, and which need to be explained and discussed with children who may see it, this is a classic as are the tales that it comes from. Our history is complex, seriously flawed, and yet rich. We need to accept the good parts, the traditional tales and the lessons they teach, along with the bad and the wisdom we can achieve by recognizing and distinguishing the bad from the good.
