This is surprisingly quite an entertaining film. I would've like the dialogue, and accents, clothes weapons, and such to be historically accurate; however they did do an amazing job with the reimagining of the story. I think overall it was written by a strong writer, and storyteller, and maybe that could've been seen more if the film was historically accurate. The cinematography was very interesting. I was impressed by some of the camera techniques used when Robin was learning to shoot arrows with the help of John. I think they took on a lot with a movie people are going to expect to suck, coupled with the fact that it's a story that's been told so many times that viewers might not even take the chance to watch it. They set up a second movie in a way where they could do another one that is better than the first. I think they should focus in hard on the dialogue and keep it within the Middle English - Early Modern English vernacular, as well as consult with experts on the dress and weapons of the time period as well as the set to make it seem as realistic as possible. One thing I particularly enjoyed was how they made the fight scenes that should look unrealistic actually look possible. I think they did a great job with adding their own touch to the fighting style with the arrows, and actually makes the movie quite entertaining, and it puts their artistic spin on the story. Overall I think they should make a sequel with the same cast and release it on hbo.
