I really enjoyed the fact this movie maintained a heavy focus on the two Lawmen hunting Bon & Clyde rather than showing their romanticized criminal side of the story. The only real scenes we encounter them is through past tense via the press announcements and crime scene investigations detailing the aftermath of their killing sprees.
Costner and Harrelson both brought home solid acting and chemistry and were a joy to watch and for me was particularly a welcome comeback for Costner in this dept. Harrelson had already made a comeback in Zombieland for me so...
Anyway over time, through tale and folklore, Bonnie & Clyde have almost beome revered as carefree rebels without a care in the world. This movie takes the focus of all that bullsh#t and shows them for the socio/psychopathic murdering Sickos they were.
Of note: I'm deducting half a star because it does require some patience, but I'm a patient man and I found the pace quite refreshing. Still deducting half a star because that balances it for the impatient ones.
Bare in mind the patience of the lawmen would have had to have been religious in their relentless quest of often dead end investigations...I feel this slow frustration translates well into the pacing of the movie. And given the Lawmen's ages and time out of their fields it's a lot for them to keep up with and translated well too with that style of pacing.
Overall..I really liked it, I'm giving it 4.5/5
