Nikita Roy manages to catch your attention with an original story that's not quite like any other bollywood thrillers. The first half rides through the journey of uncertainty & wraps up with a curse that keeps us afloat in the 2nd half. Thereafter, the pace of the Film just picks up massively & it's quite interesting all throughout. How does one believe in their instincts & not go in the herd mentality is what distinguishes the lead character in this film. The scary scenes makes us worried as well as curious. Sonakshi Sinha gives a very good performance while Paresh Rawal manages his end perfectly. Sohail Nayyar was aptly holding his part of the bargain & promises alot. Arjun Rampal although brief but was always adding depth to the movie. The music is decent and the editing seems crisp with a fantastic second half that goes at smooth speed. Kaali Raatein was the pick of all the songs in the album. The worry for the Film is a relative clash with Saiyara, but word of mouth can pick up for this movie. Also, in parts the first half looks slow but the editing and the build up for a fantastic second half covers that aspect upto a certain extent. Overall, this film with a very new concept slowly but steadily grabs your attention. Hindi films require original stories and this gives you that as a viewer. The suspense makes it worth your time.

Sadak 2 My Review: * (1 Star) The original was a decent film with a lot of violence. It had perhaps 1 of the best negative characters seen in hindi cinema (Sadashiv Amrapurkar as Maharani). The fight between good & evil in the original kept u at the edge of your seat. The original wasnt really a master piece as such but it was a good film which worked perfectly in the era of its release. Now almost 30 years since, we see a sequel. Now the major problem with sequels in bollywood are that most are after a long gap. A 30 yr gap means most performers of the original are either old or may no longer be amongst us. The relatability with the plot goes missing when all u have is 1 character from the original. They could have might as well made a fresh film than hamper the legacy of the original. The problem with bollywood is that they often make horrible sequels to mint money & harm the legacy of the film or its characters. Aamir Khan made that mistake with Dhoom 3. Salman repeated the mistakes in Race 3 & Dabangg 3. And now we see Alia Bhat make a similar attempt to gain a hit at the box office by being part of this dud. The plot revolves around a young girl who has a mission to spread awareness against blind faith in godmen, a concept already overused by bollywood in the past few years. Then we have Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) who is having suicidal thoughts & doesnt wana live anymore, as Pooja (Pooja Bhat) has expired. Given that the original was their love story, we deserved to see both of them for atleast a bit. But sadly that wasnt the case. Rest of the story revolves around the plan to murder Alia by some1 close to her & on the flip side she is determined to reach a place through Sanjay Dutts taxi. Such foolish reasoning & pointless opinions made no sense. The director really had no idea what he was trying to make. Performance wise only Sanjay Dutt impresses. The villains hardly have much to do & Alia Bhatt irritates at times. Aditya Roy Kapur was rightfully a mere spectator. The music was average. A couple of songs were decent. But nothing earthshattering. All in all, a terrible movie. In fact had the backclash due to nepotism not been there, this wouldve rightfully been universally rejected. Now atleast the producers would blame negative publicity for its negative reviews.

I saw this film for the 1st time today. This alongwith Silsila, Lamhe are some movies i have only heard as amazing but havent seen them yet. Watched this just as a tribute to its lead stars, Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor & Vinod Khanna, all 3 of whom are unfortunately no longer in this world. Trust me, this was released in 1989. Thats almost 31 years ago. Yet, i loved the film. The performance of Sridevi just tells u why she was known as the 1st female superstar in hindi cinema. The manner in which she has performed solo on "Mere haathon me naun naun chudiya hai" was exceptional. No other actor (male or female) could attract the audiences to a full song going solo without any background dancers. She just had that spark in her which is unmatched. If Sanjay Bhansali showed Aishwarya at her best, Yash Chopra showed Sridevi at her best. She was exceptional in this film. Rishi Kapoor suited the lead part perfectly. I have seen so many movies where he might not be the central character but has always made an impact. He effectively played second fiddle to Sridevi here & played it perfection. Vinod Khanna made it a wonderful love triangle & you feel for his character in the end. Given this movie was made in 1989, so much of it has been repeatedly fed to us by so many Yashraj or Dharma production movies. The hero and heroine uniting in the end & you feel good for them but also feel bad for the 3rd person in the triangle. So often was this theme repeated. This movie was iconic in many ways. Though late but im glad i saw it. Kudos to the makers & the starcast. Worth a watch.

A film for for all age groups. This gave us the beginning of family films and we are thankful to this film as it gave us Salman Khan. The chemistry between the lead pair, the family bonding, the support cast, the music, everything was perfect about this film. If you havent seen it, you must see it. One of the most innocent love stories of all time.

Simply one of the best films on underworld. Given it was made in 1989, you can imagine how ahead it was with time. Some amazing performances from all actors. The music as well has some good songs. Overall worth your time if you loved films like Satya, Company etc. This one was a decade before them and yet was as good or better than them.

Salman Khan once again brings a successful franchise and purely dismisses it with a film full of loopholes. You cant really admire the numbers a film makes if its plot is itself a shadow of the original which was a deserved blockbuster. The movie is a part prequel to Chulbul Panday's early life. A prequel we never asked for. A character such as Chulbul Panday is widely accepted. By making viewers go through his history that doesnt justify the first installment (a national award winning film) is a crime. But bhai and his gang dont care much of it. We go through the early life of Chulbul Panday and know his real name. We are covered with irrelevant catchphrases that were iconic in the original. Some scenes do entertain. But you cant make a film based on some scenes right? But Bhai and gang didnt care much. The antagonist was the clear reason the movie has got ratings. His stubborn and destructive mentality helped the film gain momentum. He didnt speak much but did impact whenever he did. He saved the first half that was clearly a let down until he turned up. Salman Khan has taken a lot riding of himself through this film and he has managed to somewhat impress audiences in the past in the 2nd installment. But how many times can he convince. This time he too goes affected and the legacy of Chulbul Panday gets hit. He does have his moments in the film. The lead pair has needless incidents which are overboard sometimes. Saie Manjrekar was impressive in her brief role. The director and the technicians did seem hurried and did dissappoint. The plot could have managed to get through had there been quality in the music and crisp screenplay, which the film lacked massively. Its a hurried product thats disastrous for a successful franchisee. Even the dialogues that used to be iconic in the first 2 installments were not upto the mark here. Third installments of many successful franchises in bollywood were failures and Dabangg 3 is no different. Its lucky to make the numbers it did. Salman Khan needs to work with established directors to keep his stardom intact in this decade. We saw the fall of SRK in the last decade due to some poor film choices & its about time Salman Khan finds the right balance soon.

Signing off last decade with this film was a memory il remember. The film covers incidents revolving 26/11 attacks on Hotel Taj Mahal, Mumbai. It initially shocks me that no Indian filmmaker made this film, given Mumbai is the heart of bollywood. We are more busy in glorifying gangsters but didnt pay much attention to such a massive terror attack in the country. The screenplay was crisp and precise. The director perfectly managed screen space for characters and the movie wasnt stretched by any means. The scenes involving bloodshed and destruction gave scary moments to every viewer. Imagine being in the same city and seeing destruction at one corner. The attacks clearly showed ineffficiency of our defence forces and the lack of timely measures on that fateful day. It also provided us a review of how much the police department lacked back in the day. The director carefully conveys these facts without divulging much into it. The lead characters did their parts perfectly and were well supported by support cast. Anupam Kher is convincing while Dev Patel fits the part very well. The support cast reflects genuineness and you feel for them throughout the film. The emotions portrayed by the victims reflected the pain and damage that was irreparable. The movie is a must watch for moviegoers. It clearly brings the human within you to view and stay focussed without missing a moment.

Chhichhore (My Review) (4 stars) Chhichhore is the new product that you often relate to a film that worked due to 'Word of mouth' praise. It is a film that covers an important message that "Attempt is more valuable than success". It is a film which is desperately needed in the present era. When you talk about a film, its necessary that the job of the story, screenplay writers is given due attention. And i must say they have done a wonderful job. The manner by which the director compares the past with the present and creates a correlation is amazing. Full marks to the concept and its implementation. The performances were very good and you do believe the characters and can distinguish them from their off screen persona. Impressed with Sushant Singh Rajput who is slowly becoming a fine artist who has played challenging roles quite convincingly. Shraddha Kapoor did her part well. The support cast were a massive strength of this film. The plot dvelves into some interesting scenes and the cast have made it believable by fitting the character. I have seen how Dil Chahta Hai and Taare Zameen Par got a lot of praise for being suitable to their timing of release. This film is also a bit similar that will make you relate and smile on many counts. I give it **** (4 stars) & strongly recommend that parents do watch this film with their children.

Bharat (My Review) 😎 1 Star * Now begin with the fact that the last 2 films of Salman Khan with Ali Abbas Zafar were Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Both were well received and liked by the audience. Though the last 2 Eid releases of Salman Khan (Race 3 & Tubelight) were totally dissappointing. Going for this movie, i knew it would be better than his last 2 Eid releases, and i wasnt wrong there. Those 2 were disasters but that doesnt mean this was great. I ought to say that the Director who has good amount of experience did not do justice to the concept on hand. The film revolves around Salman Khan's journey from 8 yrs to 70 years of age and relates it to the circumstances in the nation. The concept was good, but again, it wasnt exploited well. We wished to see more of a young Salman Khan with the circus as a backdrop. It wasnt too long. Disha Patani definitely deserved more screen space. An opportunity to entertain a bit longer was missed. Then the film moves on to Salman Khan's journey with Katrina Kaif. Now we have seen her and Salman way too often to want to see Katrina age with Salman in a movie. An actress with more Indian voice and a different pairing would have been a good option. Now we know why Priyanka Chopra was the first choice for this film. She would suit the part more. At times, the hairstyles of Salman Khan indicated i am watching a slow and boring version of Tiger Zinda Hai. The reasons for Salman & Katrina's impending marriage is as weird as was the case of the same in their personal life. There is no way we could find so many loopholes and not find some positives. The concept of National Anthem in this movie was killer and the Audience will be surprised with such clever strategy. The cameo of Tabu was refreshing and a key element to an otherwise weak later part of this film. The references to India's film stars, cricketers or politicians was wonderful. Infact we craved for more of it but the Director seemed busy promoting a 70 year old Salman fighting and walking like his present self. Performancwise, Salman needed more dialogues. This wasnt an action film like Tiger Zinda Hai, so it needed more dialogues to keep the audiences clapping and whistling. Trust me, single screen audiences even made Bodyguard look better with their massive applauds and roars. Here too, the audiences did all what they could but the movie failed big time. I give this a solitary 1 Star * & i hope Salman khan desperately finds a good film coz this is a Hat Trick of failures in Eid. Being a huge fan, i felt let down so you can imagine the plight of the rest.
