The critics have reviewed this as “sanitized” and “paint by the numbers” filmmaking. If so, the filmmakers have created the best, engrossing, moving, brilliant cookie cutter production in history. The writing for sure appeals to the largest movie going audience... and isn’t this the point? After all you want the largest audience possible. But the kudos goes to the casting. Every character is perfectly played. Rami Malik is sensational.
