If this follows the true story closely then it was done fairly well. The cow and a random bucket of fresh milk, the baby in the middle of a battle but not crying...the kid who is dumb enough not to shoot back at someone chasing him and instead just jumping into a river. Seems realistic as in random things happening and bad decisions that don't make a lot of sense overall...as is life. If these scenes/situations were added into the film simply for drama, it could have been done much more interesting.
